BIOGRAPHY

Koji Takei is a sculptor living and working in Los Angeles, California. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, California.

Before transitioning to fine art, Koji owned and operated a successful graphic design firm in Los Angeles.

His art has been exhibited at the Laguna Art Museum in Laguna Beach, Doizaki Gallery in Los Angeles, Hunsaker/Schlesinger Gallery and Robert Berman Gallery in Santa Monica, William Turner Gallery in Venice, and Debi Owen Gallery in San Diego.

He has taught at California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, California, Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, California, and is currently a faculty member at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.

Koji Takei has received recognition for his work from various organizations including awards from New York Art Director’s Club, American Institute of Graphic Arts, Los Angeles Art Director’s Club, Communication Arts and Society of Typographic Arts. His work has been published in Graphis Magazine, Print Magazine, Communication Arts, and various publications in Japan and South Korea.
